Helen's Sark Carriages

I started carriage driving in 1986 and dreamed of having my own carriage business one day. When my family bought Stocks Hotel in 2010, it gave me the opportunity to fulfil this dream.

I now have a range of beautifully restored antique vehicles, a stable full of friendly horses and from April to October I enjoy taking people round Sark and sharing my love of our special island home.

The history of the island is unique, the wildlife and natural beauty is remarkable and the community has quirky ways of living. This all makes a tour of Sark an interesting way to get to know the island.

We only take private groups for tours, never mixed bookings, which makes our tours a wonderful experience for our visitors to the island.

Sark Carriage Tours

Our Sark Carriage tours are the ideal way to explore the island.

Our usual tours, which are booked online,  start and finish at La Collinette in the village. If you would prefer to start and finish at Helen's stables, next door to Stocks Hotel in the centre of the island please email us or call to enquire. +44(0)1481 832001 or carriages@stockshotel.com

As you clip clop slowly round the island's car free paths your driver will tell you all about the history of the island pointing out places of interest and stopping occasionally to enable you to stretch your legs, take photos and if time permits even visit a tea room or Caraghs's Chocolate Kitchen.

From the elevated height of a carriage above the hedgerows you also can see the beautiful views of the island, and the special natural history. Sark has an abundance of wildlife resulting from the naturally environmentally friendly farming and is a nature lovers paradise.

Your driver will also tell you about life on the island and answer any questions you may have.

There is no fixed itinerary for the tour as it does depend on the day's circumstances, however with two hours for the tour there is ample time to see all the highlights.
